Students are introduced to the major fields of social work practice. Ethical principles guiding the profession are examined throughout. Biopsychosocial frameworks are introduced for understanding human behavior. Case studies illustrate the interaction of person and environment. Students analyze how policy decisions affect vulnerable populations. Current policy debates are examined through a social justice lens. Students apply intervention models to case scenarios drawn from practice settings. Builds on skills developed in the first practice course.
