LATN 101 — Elementary Latin I(4 cr.)Introduces the fundamentals of Latin grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure. Emphasis on developing translation skills from the earliest lessons. Builds toward independent translation of connected prose. Prerequisite(s): LATN 101 View Fall 2026 sections of this course LATN 201 — Intermediate Latin: Prose Authors(3 cr.)Applies grammar fundamentals to the reading of unadapted Latin prose, such as Caesar or Cicero. Emphasis on vocabulary building and syntactic analysis. Prerequisite(s): LATN 102 View Fall 2026 sections of this course LATN 202 — Intermediate Latin: Poetry(3 cr.)Introduces the reading of Latin poetry, including selections from Ovid or Virgil, with attention to meter and poetic devices. Continues development of translation fluency.
