Department of Art History
Art History at Southgate traces the visual cultures of the world from antiquity to the present, combining close visual analysis with critical and historical inquiry. Students have direct access to the university's teaching collection and nearby regional museums for object-based learning. The department's strengths in museum studies and curatorial practice prepare majors for graduate study and careers in the arts.
