Admissions

Southgate University welcomes applicants who are curious, engaged, and ready to contribute to a close-knit academic community. With roughly 9,400 students across five colleges, Southgate offers the resources of a larger university alongside the personal attention of a small campus, where undergraduate class sizes average 19 students.

Our admissions process considers the whole student: academic preparation, personal essays, letters of recommendation, and demonstrated engagement in and out of the classroom. We admit students on a rolling basis for fall and spring terms and encourage prospective students to visit campus along the Cascade River to see Southgate firsthand.

How to Apply

  1. Submit the Common Application or Southgate's own application, along with the $50 application fee or a fee waiver
  2. Request official high school transcripts and, if applicable, college transcripts
  3. Submit at least one letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor
  4. Complete the optional but encouraged admissions interview, in person or virtually
  5. Submit the FAFSA and any required financial aid documents to be considered for university aid
