Department of Linguistics
The Department of Linguistics at Southgate University offers a minor and interdisciplinary major exploring how human language is structured, acquired, and used in society. Small seminar-style classes give students close engagement with faculty who specialize in phonology, syntax, and sociolinguistics. Graduates pursue careers in speech-language pathology, language technology, education, and translation.
