Templin School of Business Team Wins Regional Case Competition

January 14, 2026 · Office of University Communications

A team of four undergraduates from the Templin School of Business won first place at a regional case competition held in Cincinnati, outperforming teams from fourteen other colleges and universities. The team was asked to develop a market-entry strategy for a mid-sized logistics firm and presented their findings to a panel of industry judges.

Team members Josephine Marr, Devon Achebe, Priya Shah, and Wyatt Coleman spent three weeks preparing under the guidance of marketing professor Dr. Felix Ostrander, refining their analysis late into several evenings in the business school's team rooms.

"What impressed the judges was how grounded their recommendations were in real numbers, not just a slick pitch," Ostrander said. The team's win comes with a $5,000 prize and an invitation to a national case competition later this year.

Dean of the Templin School of Business Carla Mendenhall said the win reflects a broader push to expand experiential learning across the business curriculum, including a redesigned capstone course launched two years ago.
